check in is not available until 1pm, however if you wish to arrive earlier you are welcome to leave your bags, fill out the formalities and then check into your room at your leisure later in the day


Getting to Bute and finding the Bayview Hotel


Bute is one of the easiest Scottish islands to reach from mainland UK. There is a direct link by rail from Glasgow Central station to the Wemyss (pron. "weems") Bay ferry terminal from where the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry takes approximately 35mins to make the crossing to Rothesay.

A more scenic Route
If you are travelling by car or bike there is a more circuitous and spectacular route by driving up past Loch Lomond and through the mountains of Argyll. This brings you to the village of Colintraive and a small ferry crossing from the Kyles of Bute to Rhubodach on the north of the island. Drive south to Rothesay from here and locate us on the seafront.
